Thibaut Courtois joined Real Madrid on Thursday on a six-year deal after the Belgian parted ways with Chelsea.
Courtois’ departure follows Chelsea’s signing of former Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Details of the deal’s worth are undisclosed but it is estimated to be worth 35 million pounds.
The 26-year-old says the move is a dream one.
“Today I am realising a dream,” said Courtois.
“This is the best club in the world,” he added.
Being close to his two kids, Adrianna and Nicolas helped the Russia 2018 World Cup best goalkeeper in finally deciding to join the UCL Champions.
“I hope you understand that being close to my kids was considerable in my decision.”
Chelsea, in the early hours of the day, announced the joining of Croatia international, Mateo Kovacic from the Los Blancos, on loan.
