Cristiano Ronaldo‘s absence at Real Madrid has been replaced with the presence of Mariano Diaz.
The 25-year-old Dominica Republic international striker joined the 13-time UEFA Champions League winner in a €30m move from French Ligue 1 cub, Lyon – an amount far less than the 80 million pounds Ronaldo cost the la liga club in 2009.
This move earns Mariano the number 7 shirt worn by Ronaldo at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium.
The Spanish-born player played in Madrid’s youth teams between 2011 and 2016.
He made 46 appearances scoring 18 goals for the Real Madrid C team before playing with the B Team where he scored 32 goals in 44 appearances.
Mariano’s first stint with Madrid during the 2016/2017 season ended with one goal in eight appearances.
