Sane paced forward toward Karius and fired the ball right into the far corner to record the first goal of the game, in front of a 52, 000 crowd.
Salah replaced Curtis Jones in the 62nd minute of the game and pulled the club back up into the game a minute later through a Camacho assist.
The game looked to be heading to a draw ending until the 94th minute after Solanke was brought down.
Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp was in high praise for the players performance, despite the condition of the pitch.
“I was not worried about the pitch, I was more worried for the pitch – we killed it completely.
“The stadium is great. The dressing room is as big as Anfield. The crowd is sensational. The pitch is not perfect.”
The loss is City’s second loss in the tournament and Liverpool’s first win in two games.
Five Nigerian players were listed for both sides in that game with three featuring: Dominic Solanke (Liverpool), Tosin Adarabioyo and Tom Dele-Bashiru for Manchester played parts in that match.
