Liverpool are probably going to end Taiwo Awoniyi’s advance at Mainz this month, with the Nigerian striker the subject of enthusiasm from a large group of European clubs.

The 22-year-old had would have liked to sparkle when moving to Germany the previous summer, yet has shown up for the Bundesliga strugglers.

Just one of those was from the beginning, and Awoniyi was subbed at half-time in that game with Mainz down to 10 men away at Fortuna Dusseldorf. Indeed, the forward has overseen just 150 minutes altogether for his club this term.

What’s more, with Jean-Philippe Mateta, Mainz’s principle striker, having come back to activity just before the winter break, it is foreseen that Awoniyi will think that its much harder to get normal football in the second 50% of the crusade.

Liverpool have the alternative to end the credit understanding, however won’t do so except if an unmistakable open door for game-time emerges. They have not been shy of enthusiasm, with Greek mammoths Olympiacos among those sharp.
