On Wednesday, Chelsea interest, Kepa Arrizabalaga, bought-out his Athletic Bilbao contract for NGN33bn (£71m ), making him available to join the Blues.

When the deal is finalised, Kepa will become the most expensive goalkeeper.

The Spaniard’s fee will beat the previous amount paid for a goalie which Liverpool did for Brazil goalkeeper, Alisson from AS Roma.

Alisson cost the Anfield club NGN31bn (£66.8m)

Alisson’s move from Serie A side, AS Roma, surpasses Gianluigi Buffon’s 2001 move from Parma to Juventus.

Kepa, 23-year-old, is being brought in for departing Thibaut Courtois who is on Real Madrid’s radar.

He is Spain’s number two behind David de Gea and has just one cap.

Kepa buying himself out of Bilbao nullifies a January contract extension he signed until 2025
