Coach and technical adviser of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Gernot Rohr has charged the team to go all out with a ‘No-Option-To-Victory’ mandate against Libya in an AFCON 2019 qualifier, on Saturday, in Uyo.
Nigeria, at this same Game day 3 stage, during the qualifiers for the Russia 2018 World Cup, went all out for a much needed win against African Champions, Cameroon, and they ran riot on the Lions, winning 4-0 in the same venue.
He assures the players will put their best foot forward from the kick-off in Uyo to the return leg in Sfax, Tunisia, days later.
“I believe we have the players here to earn a decent result and then go and give their all in Libya for another credible outcome. We need the points now; we cannot pretend about that. If we pick the points in these two games, we will be very close to the AFCON ticket.
“It was good winning in Seychelles the way we did. We got the result we needed and it should serve as a good motivation to continue winning when we play Libya.”
Nigeria sits third in the group behind South Africa and Libya at the top.
The Mediterranean Knights of Libya are expected to arrive Uyo on Friday.
A win for the three-time African champions will take them closer to owning the ticket to Cameroon 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
